Sons of Rick

Indie rock from Kingston, Ontario

Sons of Rick are a genre-blending indie rock band from Kingston, Ontario. Four friends who met at St. Lawrence College and started playing because someone asked them to do a birthday party, still at it four years and three releases later.

The sound pulls from everywhere the four of us grew up listening: the melodic ease of Peach Pit, the raw push of The Strokes, the swagger of Arctic Monkeys and Red Hot Chili Peppers, the emotional reach of Nothing But Thieves. Big solos, bigger choruses, the occasional instrument swap mid-set.

Our latest single, Fuzion Frenzy, came out in 2026, named after the 2000s Xbox party game we play when we get together. The music video is out now. Before that came our debut EP The Basement, three songs written in Rick's basement where the band started, and the single Filter in 2024.

We have played more than thirty shows around Kingston since 2022, at The Broom Factory, The Mansion, The Toucan and on the water aboard the Island Queen. Everything we make comes out of being friends first, and that is the thing we want people to feel at a show.
